Often the largest ownership block — finally visible.
Retail shareholders often represent the largest single ownership group for issuers — yet most companies cannot identify them below custodian level. ECI identifies and segments retail holders by geography, age, gender, account type and holding size amongst many other data points in SRD II markets. For AGMs or M&A transactions, we design targeted activation programmes that drive attendance and proxy returns. For ongoing IR, we provide retail engagement strategies that build a stable, loyal shareholder base over time.
FOR IR Officers · AGM Teams · Communications · M&A / Legal
From the 2027 dividend record date, German companies must submit granular beneficial owner data to the Bundeszentralamt für Steuern (BZSt) via DPI. ECI provides complete end-to-end MiKaDiV processing — from SRD II identification through to BZSt submission — as an authorised SWIFT partner under ISO 20022. Beyond compliance, MiKaDiV data provides the most granular shareholder picture available under German law. Cost efficiency note: ECI’s process is structured to minimise the SRD II custodian charges (Gebührenverordnung) that accumulate with traditional approaches — with full cost transparency and tracking.
Before your AGM, know which investors hold voting mandates, not just economic positions. ECI’s data is used to model quorums, vote outcome probability and dissent risk by resolution by advisory partner Embera Partners, all before the AGM publication and record date. We identify the key holders who will determine contested outcomes, map proxy advisor dependencies (ISS, Glass Lewis, IVOX, Ethos), detect securities lending positions that dilute voting rights, and prepare targeted engagement strategies to avoid surprises. We track proxy votes weeks prior to AGM date. ECI’s intelligence feeds directly into Embera Partners governance and AGM advisory solutions and links to Captrace’s end-to-end AGM hosting services, as well as independently available.
In a live transaction, speed and accuracy of ownership data are decisive. ECI performs forensic shareholder mapping, identifying stake-building via derivatives, securities lending, short-selling and trading pattern analysis as well as custodian chain drill down beyond what public filings reveal. We model tender probability under offer price scenarios, identify silent holders whose positions are material at the acceptance threshold, and provide a full ownership picture to design activation strategies and shareholder engagement planning. ECI intelligence feeds directly into Embera Partners’ M&A transaction advisory.
Compare your ownership profile against sector peers, index constituents and market cap cohort. Identify composition gaps underweight geographies, missing fund styles, ESG misalignment. ECI maps the institutions most compatible with your investment case that are not yet in your register, and delivers a prioritised targeting list with decision-maker contacts and recommended engagement approach, all with proven conversion rates that outperform market standards. Monitor cap-table development over time against defined targets.
